It is accepted that the development of skills and capacities in AI and IoT technologies will be a key driver of competitiveness and innovation in the SME sector. Future Jobs Ireland 2019 notes that as technology advancements result in new ways of doing business, emerging job roles will require new and different skillsets, particularly in AI and IoT. Concomitant with progress in these two areas will be the absolute necessity to provide wraparound expertise in Cyber Security.

By striving to be a partner of national importance in Cyber Security, Collaboratory will provide the infrastructure, services and expertise to help prepare Irish companies regionally and nationally to secure their business. Collaboratory will be a key enabler of and conduit for collaboration and co-creation between industry and TU Dublin by making accessible the University’s academic expertise, research and development capabilities, facilities and resources in a supported, curated and partnership-based manner.

Collaboratory will support start-up companies, SMEs, postgraduate researchers, postdoctoral researchers, and academics to develop knowledge clusters to contribute to the creation of new knowledge in Cyber SecurityAI & IoT.
