Despite daily, highly publicised reporting of cyber-attacks, human error remains the single biggest cause of these attacks being realised against an organisation. Cyber security awareness is critical for ensuring employees are trained to identify and avoid potential threats by practicing good cyber security hygiene in the workplace, whether onsite or remote.

The FREE workshop will provide an understanding of the most common cyber security threats to an organisation and demonstrates how this knowledge can be used to build an effective awareness programme. You will learn about the most common primary cyber-attack surfaces within your organisation and discuss the best practices for mitigation and prevention of such attacks. You will be provided with the tools to measure the maturity of your cyber security awareness programme and a structured approach to integrating cyber security awareness into your organisation.

This workshop will be delivered by Dr. Stephen O'Shaughnessy, TU Dublin Lecturer in Cyber Security, and is aimed at executives, business leaders, risk professionals, decision makers, and business owners who wish to build their overall awareness of cyber security and improve their cyber security hygiene to enable them to build an effective cyber security awareness programme.

On completion of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Understand cyber security awareness and why it’s important.
  • Recognise potential cyber-attacks.
  • Understand what parts of your organisation are at risk and the best practices for preventing them.
  • Formulate and structure an effective cyber security awareness programme.
